Who is Tripping in the Tropics?
Hello there! I’m Tasha — full time traveler, solo adventurer, adrenaline seeker, and vlogger.
I’ve been tripping around the world for seven years, have lived on three continents, and made it to Burning Man ten times! After feeling like Jim Carrey’s character in The Truman Show — feeling trapped and yearning to sail to Fiji to escape — and some unfortunate election results in 2016, I had enough gumption to leave Oregon after dreaming about Australia for years. I wanted turquoise waters, tropical plants, and more days of sunshine than Portland could provide.
I have fainted on two planes, been kicked off a sailboat in Baja California, and came down with Coronavirus while nude sunbathing in Mexico, and still have the spirit to travel! On the bright side, I’ve picked cherries in New Zealand, marveled at Australia’s pink lakes, mimosa plants, and shingleback skinks —and wildly, I married a Uruguayan during Covid.
I hope my adventures encourage you to get your first Working Holiday visa, nomadic experience, or passport stamp. I want you to know that travel is achievable even if you’re from a trailer park and have crippling debt like me, (ha). Here are some resources that I use to help me travel on a budget.
